Spring is quite possibly the best time of year in Tennessee and if you’re new to town, or even just slipping a little out of the loop, you may be wondering where the best patios in Nashville are. There is an abundance of them, in every corner of town, at restaurants and juice bars and coffee shops, offering all kinds of food and drink. Warm weather has graced us with its presence even earlier than normal this year, so get out there and take advantage. We’ll get you started!

Rooftop Patios in Nashville

Nashville’s skyline is constantly changing of late, and there’s no better place to take in those changes than from a rooftop patio. Dining and drinks abound at these sky-high establishments.

Acme Feed & Seed – Bar service doesn’t start until 5 PM, but Acme’s rooftop patio boasts downtown views all day. By views, we mean V-I-E-W-S of Nashville’s best assets – rivers, bridges, and the famous Batman Building!

L27– Perched atop the Westin Hotel just off the 8th Ave South roundabout near the Gulch, L27 is the very definition of swanky. With an expansive view, an infinity pool, and a DJ, L27 brings more than just fabulous cocktails.

Watermark Rooftop views with fine dining to boot! One of the “older” patios in Nashville, Watermark has seen a lot of change around its home in the Gulch. What hasn’t changed is the amazing meals. This restaurant has been offering some of Nashville’s very finest in dining since 2005 and while not cheap, it’s worth every dime.

Alcohol-Free Patios in Nashville

Not everyone wants to drink their days and nights away in fine weather, but have no fear. As always, Nashville has a little something for everyone and that includes alcohol-free outdoor dining and drinking.

The Urban Juicer – 8th Ave / Melrose – Rise and shine on a warm Nashville day with a customizable juice experience and some healthy organic snacks.

Frothy Monkey – 12 South – The coffee is fab, but it’s not everything! Breakfast through dinner, grab a bite with your java and partake in some patio people watching in 12 South.

Bongo Java – Long established in the Belmont neighborhood, Bongo Java is a popular spot for locals and college students looking for a bite and beverage outdoors. Just so you know, they are also proud to be Nashville’s first and oldest coffee house.

Patios in Nashville with Things to DO!

Does the Spring air give you energy? If so, we highly recommend a visit to one of the patios in Nashville that offer you not just food and booze, but also things to DO!

Pinewood Social – Inside is swanky and industrial, but outside is Summertime casual with bocce ball and dipping pools. It’s hip, we promise…like AirStream trailer bar hip.

Clyde’s on Church – They promise “Good food. Good drinks. Good time,” and they deliver. Clyde’s will keep you busy with shuffleboard and foosball, but we really recommend a little open air ping pong on the fully covered patio on the back side.

Martins’s BBQ – Downtown – What do you get when you raise the roof….all the way off? An amazing, second floor, indoor but outdoor beer garden. Even better, this one comes with comes with Ping-Pong, Darts, and Shuffleboard. And that’s not mentioning the darn good ‘cue!

Craft-y Patios in Nashville

Craft brews are more than a little en vogue and what more could you ask for than a handful of options for brews AND patios in Nashville?

Tennessee Brew Works – Live music, brews, and Nashville views! Tennessee Brew Works will keep you occupied with board games (and giant Connect Four) and full with crafted beers and bites.

Hurry Back – Perfectly located for grabbing a beer and a snack before or after taking in a show at Nashville’s Exit/In next door, Hurry Back has a cozy patio lined with picnic tables and a lengthy list of craft beers, bottled and on tap.

Fat Bottom Taproom – In addition to a stunning beer garden (The Hop Yard), Fat Bottom boasts 20 beers on tap as well as food – everything from vegan to burgers.

Tequila!

Looking for patios in Nashville and brews aren’t your style? How about tequila!? After all, nothing says “sunny days” quite like a margarita. Don’t wait for Cinco de Mayo. Check out these spots now.

BarTaco – Sidewalk side in 12 South, BarTaco’s comfy patio offers all you could ever dream of in people watching, tacos and tequila!

Saint Anejo – Like all members of the M Street family, Saint Anejo pairs fine food with fine spirits, but this time, cantina style. Grab a blood orange margarita under string lights and umbrellas and imagine you’re half a world away.

Rosepepper – Home to one of the most festive patios in Nashville, the biggest problem you may have at Rosepepper is deciding exactly which margarita to try first.

Burgers, and Tacos, and Pizza, Oh MY!

Go on, binge a little! It’s Spring and you should celebrate its arrival with some good old food and drink. There’s just something about burgers, pizza, and tacos in the open air.

Pharmacy – We’re not sure if Pharmacy is more popular for its burgers and sodas or for its beer garden. It’s definitely a tossup, but they are winners either way!

Mafiaoza’s – Pizza, your way, even if you’re gluten free. It tastes best at happy hour, on a warm day, on the patio!

Taco Mamacita – In the afternoons, Taco Mamacita has one of the sunniest, and most bustling patios in town. People may come for the tacos, but they stay for the sweet potato fries and flavored margaritas. Grab your shades and go.

Waterfront Patios in Nashville

BlueMoon Waterfront Grille – BlueMoon has quite a tale to tell. The waterfront bar & grille has reopened after suffering devastating damage in the flood of 2010. We’re happy to have it back!

Papa Turney’s – BBBQ with a waterfront view? That is SO Nashville. Seriously, what more could you ask for?!

Sam’s Sports Grill – It’s a sports bar. With good grub. On the water!! Need we say more?

Believe it or not, we’re just barely scratching the surface of the many restaurants, bars, and coffee shops that have patios in Nashville, but it’s a start! We love our sunshine in the South, so if you’re new to Nashville, (or plan to move here soon), don’t forget your shades. You’ll need them as you work your way through the list. Have a beer or margarita for us while you’re at it. We’ll be here helping people get settled into new homes. 😉
