Four of the Best Places to Work Out in Nashville

Your arms might get sore from carrying around all those moving boxes during your move to Nashville, that does not count as working out! (Nice try.) Despite being quite literally the epicenter of fried chicken and delicious (but fattening) barbecue, Nashville is home to a variety of great fitness programs and studios that will help you shave off those extra calories and feel strong. Neither is it a stranger to the boutique fitness trend that has taken the country by storm. So skip the old boring gym membership and get your sweat on at one of these 4 trendy spots to work out in Nashville that will help you look good and feel even better.

Barry’s Bootcamp

Barry’s Bootcamp prides itself on being “The Hardest Workout in the World” and has been named “The Best Celebrity Workout” by Allure and Los Angeles Magazine, promising to deliver celeb-status results. Be prepared to leave with wobbly legs and arms that you won’t be able to pick up the next morning, because this will definitely be one of the hardest classes you will ever take. With red lights and bumping music saturating every class, Barry’s combines sprinting on a treadmill with weight training for an hour-long, heart-pumping, sweat-inducing, sexy experience that will be sure to leave you feeling the burn. Each day of the week targets a different body area (Butts & Legs on Tuesdays will literally kick your butt) with weekends reserved for Full Body. Sip on a delicious smoothie packed with protein from the in-house Fuel Bar after you work out in Nashville at Barry’s – we recommend the PB&J and Fat Burning Lemonade!

Hot Yoga Plus

Think yoga is easy and limited to only the female population? Think again. Hot Yoga Plus is a fully-loaded yoga studio that offers a wide variety of both heated and non-heated classes for beginners to advanced yogis and everything in between. Class options range from a deep stretch in an unheated room to their signature Hot 26 practice, which consists of a series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises performed in a room cranked up to 100 degrees. Our personal favorite is the Power Flow class, which mixes yoga with strength training and cardio bursts, making for a challenging, dynamic, and totally fun workout set to a groovin’ soundtrack. Hot Yoga Plus even holds workshops over the weekends, teaching everything from hand balancing to body rolling. Every instructor brings their own personal flair to their classes, so don’t ever expect the same flow twice. Do expect, however, to be dripping in pools of your own sweat. You’ll be a hot mess, but you’ll come to love it!

Whether you need to blow off some steam after a stressful day, get arms that Michelle Obama would covet, or simply enjoy punching things hard, TITLE Boxing Club has got you covered for your work out in Nashville! Decked out with a boxing ring and several lines of black punching bags (making this place totally legit), this gym offers boxing, kickboxing, and power hour classes – all led by professional boxers that will teach you the difference between a left hook and a right cross (pow, pow!). TITLE Boxing Club claims their power hour classes can burn up to 1,000 calories an hour, so get ready to get down to business as soon as you enter the ring. No leisurely stretching or long-winded introductions here, just jumping jacks and burpees to get your heart rate pumping from the very beginning. Pro tip: Want to get the most out of your workout? Imagine your punching bag as your ex.

Located in Green Hills, this high-intensity studio focuses on cycling – but it’s far from your average spin class. With the lights down low and music blasting, Krank Cycle classes get you in the zone and become an incredibly addictive ride, helping you achieve buns of steel but also working your core, arms, and legs. Additionally, the studio also offers a Krank Strength class that uses timed intervals and body weight exercises, along with equipment such as sandbags, weights, and Plyo boxes for a total body workout that pushes muscles you didn’t even know existed. To get the best of both worlds, take the 30/30 class, which consists of 30 minutes of Krank Strength and 30 minutes of cycling. Put the pedal to the metal!
